The biggest frustration with used pallets is inconsistency — a "Grade A" load that arrives full of repairs and splinters. We grade against a written standard and inspect every unit, so a Grade A order is genuinely uniform: same size, same stringer style, no unrepaired damage.

Grade A units look near-new and handle automated lines well. Grade B units are structurally sound with cosmetic wear — perfect for one-way shipments or internal moves where appearance does not matter. When you are unsure, tell us the application and we will match the grade to the job.

Recycled pallets typically run well below the cost of new wood, and because the lumber is already in circulation, each one carries a fraction of the embodied carbon. You keep your landed cost down and your footprint low at the same time.

For standard 48x40 recycled stock, confirmed orders typically ship within a day or two because the units are already graded and staged. Custom sizes, large volumes, or remanufactured specs carry a build lead time that we state clearly up front. The price you pay reflects a few things working together: the grade you select, the size and how in-demand it is, the quantity you take, and how far the load has to travel. A full truckload of Grade B 48x40s lands very differently per unit than a small mixed bundle of specialty sizes, simply because of handling and freight efficiency.

Because pallets are a real commodity, the used market moves with lumber prices and regional supply. We will always tell you honestly when a spec is tight and pricing is firm, and when there is room to save by flexing to a nearby size or a slightly lower grade. The goal is the lowest landed cost that still does your job, not the cheapest sticker that fails on the dock.

Buying up to Grade A when Grade B would do is a common way to overspend. If pallets are moving through an automated conveyor or racking system, or shipping to a customer who judges you on presentation, Grade A earns its premium. For internal moves, one-way shipments, or applications where a little cosmetic wear is irrelevant, Grade B carries the same load for less money.

When you are unsure, describe the application rather than guessing at a grade. Tell us the weight, the handling equipment, and whether the pallet is seen by a customer, and we will point you to the grade that fits. Right-sizing the grade is one of the easiest wins in a pallet budget.

Every recycled pallet you buy is a pallet that stays in the working economy instead of heading to a grinder or a landfill, and it is a tree that does not have to be cut to replace it. The lumber was harvested and milled years ago, so choosing recycled avoids the carbon cost baked into new wood. That makes buying used one of the rare procurement decisions that lowers both your invoice and your footprint at once.
